Legend has it that Josh picked up his dad’s harmonica when he was three and began to improvise. After experimentation with several conventional instruments as well as common household items he settled on the saxophone as his main outlet for constant musical doodling. After high school he decided to hone his skills at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, were he earned a Bachelor of Musical Arts Degree. Quite unexpectedly he met his muse and followed her to Chicago, leaving the small coastal town of his birth with the hope of finding a wider audience for his constant need to improvise.
Josh actively performs with Undertow, Microcosmic Sound Orchestra, The Soul Papas and several other improvising groups in the Chicago area.
When not playing the saxophone Josh spends his time quoting lines from Monty Python movies in an outrageous accceennte!! He also fights with his cat for the comfortable chair in the living room.
